Feed microbiology
Our laboratory offers a wide range of microbiological analyses.
The focus is on determining bacterial and fungal counts for microbiological quality assessment, as well as the targeted detection of relevant pathogenic organisms, such as Salmonella, Listeria and Clostridia.
As part of the microbiological quality assessment of animal feed, we detect both product-specific and spoilage-indicating microorganisms. These parameters provide important information regarding product quality and shelf life.
For animal by-products (ABP), microbiological testing is carried out in accordance with the requirements of Regulation (EU) No 142/2011. This includes, among other things, the detection of Salmonella and the quantitative determination of Enterobacteriaceae and Clostridium perfringens.
Another focus is on the quantification and confirmation of probiotic additives. In this process, specifically added microorganisms are detected and, where necessary, verified using molecular biological methods.
