The aim of this targeted campaign was to check the marketability of dried soups. It also served to check whether dried soups from third countries that had been treated with ionising radiation were on the market in Austria without the food being labelled as ‘irradiated’ or ‘treated with ionising radiation’.
Sixty samples from across Austria were analysed:
- three samples were found to be non-compliant, including one ‘vegetable stock’ imported from a third country due to the detection of ionising radiation treatment which had not been labelled
