The aim of the priority campaign A-013-26, ‘Toy buggies and toy prams’, was to check compliance with the requirements of the 2011 Toys Regulation.
A total of 46 samples were examined, of which 17 were found to be non-compliant in some respects, in some cases on more than one occasion:
- Six samples were rejected due to safety defects
- Prohibited phthalates were detected in one sample, which was therefore rejected in accordance with the Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) (EC) No 1907/2006
- In four samples, the labelling did not comply with the requirements of the Toy Regulation No. 203/2011 (inadequate warning labels, missing CE marking)
- Eight samples were rejected due to an inadequate or missing EC declaration of conformity
