The aim of this targeted campaign was to carry out a comprehensive survey of residue levels in milk, egg and honey samples from Austrian primary production. Extensive tests were carried out on the following groups of substances:
- prohibited substances
- substances authorised as veterinary medicines, such as antibiotics, treatments for endo- and ectoparasites, analgesics and anti-inflammatory agents, including corticosteroids
- pesticides
- mycotoxins
89 samples from across Austria were analysed. One sample was found to be non-compliant:
- In a sample of goat’s milk, the unauthorised substance 4-hydroxyantipyrine was detected below the limit of quantification, and the sample was deemed unfit for human consumption.
