The aim of priority action A-002-26 ‘Primary aromatic amines in nylon kitchenware’ was to verify compliance with the current legal requirements for such products under Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 regarding the migration of primary aromatic amines (PAA for short). 

53 samples were analysed, of which six were found to be non-compliant:

• One sample was deemed unsuitable for its intended use (Section 16(1)(2) of the LMSVG)
• Four samples were rejected on the grounds of adversely affecting foodstuffs (Section 16(1)(3) of the LMSVG)
• One sample was rejected on the grounds of misleading information regarding its properties (Section 5(2)(1) of the LMSVG)
