The aim of the focal action was to verify compliance with the applicable maximum residue levels and to estimate the actual consumer exposure to pesticide residues.

798 samples from all over Austria were examined. 21 samples were rejected:

• 20 samples exceeded the maximum levels for at least one pesticide active ingredient. Of these, one sample was found to be harmful to health and four samples were found to be unfit for human consumption.
