The objective of the focus action was to review two requirements for placing plastic materials and articles on the market:
- Declarations of Conformity and the underlying compliance documents (supporting documents such as test reports and calculations based on formulations and the like).
- Compliance with restrictions on the specific migration of elements
90 samples from all over Austria were examined. 27 samples were rejected:
- 27 samples did not comply with the Regulation on Plastic Food Contact Materials (EU) No. 10/2011.
There were no complaints regarding the migration of metals. All complaints were related to deficient or missing documents, which should prove the safety of the samples.
