From 1 January 2026, the following applies to professional users and retailers: Anyone wishing to supply anticoagulant rodenticides in Austria, or to purchase them for professional use or use them without restriction, must demonstrate their competence.

In this e-learning course, participants will acquire the necessary knowledge to carry out integrated pest management against mice and rats. The certificate of competence (upon successful completion) authorises the holder to purchase and apply the relevant biocidal products, and retailers to sell these products.

Licensed pest controllers practising their trade in accordance with Section 128 of the Trade Regulation Act 1994, Federal Law Gazette No. 194/1994, and chemists practising their trade in accordance with Section 104 of the aforementioned Federal Act are also deemed to be competent (i.e. they do not need to complete a competence training course).
