The company danone has initiated a public recall of infant formula of certain batches of the product Aptamil on 31 January 2026.
The recall is a precautionary measure due to the possible presence of cereulide. Cereulide is a toxin produced by the micro-organism Bacillus cereus.
The Ministry of Health has commissioned a priority action in which infant formula from various manufacturers will also be analysed for cereulide. The provincial food authorities will take samples in all provinces and the laboratory tests will be carried out by AGES.
I have this product at home, what should I do now?
If you have purchased one or more of the above products with the corresponding batch numbers/best-before dates, do not feed them to your infants. You can return the products where they were purchased. The purchase price will be refunded even without presenting the receipt.
My baby has diarrhoea/vomiting. What should I do?
If your baby is vomiting or has diarrhoea, it is essential that you consult a paediatrician or an emergency room. These symptoms can very quickly lead to complications, especially in babies. It does not matter what has caused the diarrhoea or vomiting.
