The aim of this focus action was to test and assess monthly hygiene products such as tampons, sanitary napkins and panty liners with regard to microbiological condition and labeling requirements. Thirty-three samples from all over Austria were examined.

• One sample was unsuitable for the intended use due to a significant exceedance of the microbiological limit value.

In the Sample and Revision Plan for 2019, this focus action was established to verify compliance with the criteria for cellulose- or cotton-based monthly hygiene articles.
