The aim of the focus action was to check whether the toys currently on the Austrian market meet the requirements regarding the acoustic properties of toys. 80 samples from all over Austria were examined.

18 samples were objected to (in part several times):

seven samples were objected to (in part several times) due to safety deficiencies
seven samples were found to have labeling deficiencies
ten samples were rejected due to a missing or defective EC declaration of conformity
five samples were rejected due to deficiencies according to the Toy Labelling Regulation
one sample was marketed in combination with confectionery and was objected to for deficiencies concerning the information of consumers about foodstuffs
