The aim of the focus action was to determine the possible contamination of drinking water throughout Austria with selected organic contaminants (antibiotic and pharmaceutical residues and perfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS)), the presence of which is suspected or cannot be ruled out.

A total of 318 samples from all over Austria were examined.
