The aim of the focus action was to determine the migration of styrene from articles and food contact materials made of plastic. Thirty-seven samples from all over Austria were examined.

No sample was objected to in connection with detected styrene levels, as styrene may currently be used for the production of plastics without any additional legal restriction.
