Final report of the priority action A-026-25

The aim of the monitoring campaign was to obtain an overview of the level of contamination of di-n-hexyl phthalate (DnHexP) in sunscreen products in Austria. This data collection can also help to derive an orientation value for the technical avoidability of this impurity in the UV filter diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate (DHHB) together with other member states.

49 products from three federal states were analysed. 50 tests were carried out, as one sample consisted of both a sunscreen product and a sunscreen lip balm.

  • Based on current knowledge, none of the samples analysed posed a health risk due to contamination with DnHexP
