The following applies to professional users and the trade from 1 January 2026: Anyone wishing to supply anticoagulant rodenticides in Austria or obtain them for professional use or use them without restriction must provide proof of their expertise.
In this e-learning course, participants receive the necessary knowledge to be able to carry out integrated control of mice and rats. The certificate of competence (after successful completion) authorises the purchase and use of the corresponding biocidal products or the trade to sell these products.

Licensed pest controllers in the exercise of their trade in accordance with § 128 of the Trade Regulation Act 1994, Federal Law Gazette No. 194/1994 and druggists in the exercise of their trade in accordance with § 104 of the aforementioned federal law are also considered competent (i.e. they do not have to complete a specialist training course).
