The aim of the focus action was to check the safety (microbiological parameters) of products that had been preserved in various containers. The labeling of the products was also checked.

88 samples from all over Austria were examined. 47 samples were rejected:

  • One sample was judged to be of reduced value due to elevated bacterial counts, and all other complaints concerned labeling deficiencies. All labeling notices concerned the information on the "primary ingredient".
