The basic seminar on pesticides is organised by the AGES National Reference Laboratory for Pesticide Residues at the Institute for Food Safety in Innsbruck.
This 1.5-day seminar provides an overview of the topic of pesticide residues in food. In the sense of a holistic approach, the content covers regulatory aspects, provides an overview of the relevant analytical detection methods and looks at the food safety system in the EU and the tasks of official controls in the member states.

- Analytical methods in pesticide residue analysis: Multi-methods & single methods
- Guideline for quality assurance and validation in pesticide analysis: SANTE/11312/2021 as amended
- Interaction between EFSA, EC, EURL/NRL/OFLs and national authorities in the member states
- Proficiency testing & ring tests
- Interpretation of test reports: Limit of detection and limit of quantification, measurement uncertainty
- Laboratory tour through the national reference laboratory: requirements for the laboratory infrastructure and qualification of laboratory staff, quality management requirements in an accredited laboratory
- Basics of the expert assessment of pesticide residues
