AURES is the annual official situation report on antimicrobial resistance by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Health. Based on the inter-sectoral cooperation between AGES and the human, veterinary and food sectors, the report highlights the use of antimicrobial substances in these respective sectors within Austria.

The aims of AURES are to make sustainable, comparable and representative data available in the form of a joint report on resistance and to make recommendations and draw up measures based on this data which can be implemented within the framework of the National Action Plan to curb antimicrobial resistance in Austria. In addition and as far as is possible the data is to be compared with international data.
