On 5th September 2005, the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) was awarded the contract (under business reference number BMGF-20125/0041-III/B/7/2005) to:
- Produce an annual report
- Provide specialist information and advice for doctors and patients regarding the rabies situation in Austria and abroad and also, if required, provide advice on the indications regarding vaccination against rabies following a bite injury inflicted by a suspected rabid animal, as well as provide information for travellers in line with WHO recommendations.
Advisory services shall be provided at IMED in Vienna on 365 days a year. A medical doctor will be available in person at the following address: Währinger Straße 25a, 1090 Vienna.
