Due to a Change of the Epidemic Act of 1950, not only cases of haemophilus influenza Meningitis but all cases of invasive haemophilus influenza have been subject to mandatory reporting since July 2006.

  • All submitted strains are tested for the serotypes a, b, c, d, e and f.
  • The biotype is determined biochemically on the basis of ornithine decarboxylase, urease and indole reactions.
  • Antimicrobial resistance testing by means of the Epsilon test.
