Capacity Building

International knowledge transfer projects (Capacity Building) are offered and organised for authorities, public bodies, quasi-public bodies and associations in the framework of international cooperation programmes such as Twinning, EuropeAid, European Neighbourhood Policy, Austrian Development Agency, and GIZ (German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation).
AGES offers activities for Capacity Building in all relevant areas of responsibility. This includes:

  • Designs for establishing authorities, control systems, reference laboratories and quality management systems
  • Education and practical training (analysis) of authorities or experts at AGES

  • Serbia: “Integrated Regional Development Plan of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina”, part organic agriculture (in Kooperation mit Austrian Development Agency – ADA) 2011-2013
  • Armenia and Georgia: Animal Health Management in Cross Border Areas of Armenia and Georgia, financed by ADA, managed by CARD, (2012)
  • Saudi Arabia: “Training of experts of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), in cooperation with GIZ”:
    - Training in analysis of mycotoxins
    - Training in analysis of heavy metals
    - Training in analysis of food additives
    - Training in QM assurance and accreditation in a food laboratory
    - Training in analysis of honey
    - Training in detection of irradiated food
    - Workshop on statistics for food safety
    - Drafting concepts for National Reference Laboratories for Food Safety
    - Build-up of an inspection system for feedstuff and feed analysis
    - Training of the pesticide department: registration of PPP, controls and actions
