The Board of Directors
The Board of Directors has an important function at AGES: They manage the organization and check the year-end summaries and reports. The board can request reports from various projects as well as from the departments of AGES to verify the validity of various projects.
The Board of Directors at AGES has eleven members. The Federal Ministry for Health, Family and Youth and the Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management each has three members. The Federal Ministry for Finance and the Federal Ministry for Consumer Protection each has one member. The council dispatches three additional persons with a supervisory role. The members serve for a period of five years.

The Board of Directors is required to meet at least 4 times per year. The Board must arrange the budget, work plan, the organization’s charter, and investments. The meetings also address loans, openings and closure of establishments as well as the acquisition and amortization of property.
Five of the Board members create the Financial and Human Resources department. This department addresses all Personnel, Finance and Budgetary issues.
