AGES - Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety
The food chain security from the primary production to the consumer ready food against deliberate, accidental or natural (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) contamination stands in close correlation to the food safety of herbs and spices.
This project propose to deepen the first results achieved by the Detection and Epidemiology of Pospiviroids project (DEP) launched during the first round of EUPHRESCO.
Project SNIFFER envisions the design and development of a network of distributed detection devices, capable of rapid, on-site detection of multiple kinds of agents and CBR agents with high sensitivity and specificity throughout the most vulnerable stages of the food supply chain (such as farms, large collection centers, wholesalers, etc…).
In fulfilling its diverse roles and responsibilities in the areas of health and food safety, AGES closely cooperates with European and international organizations.
